Our Mission

It is our primary objective to provide the Yorktown/ Hampton Roads area with the highest standards of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu instruction in a clean, safe, fun, family and team-oriented atmosphere.

Our academy is proud to represent the Ribeiro Jiu-Jitsu Association, founded by BJJ legends and multiple-time World Champions Saulo and Xande Ribeiro. It is our purpose to continue to hold up the legacy of one of the most respected teams in BJJ. We do that by focusing on time tested principles over individual personality.

At Eaton Jiu-Jitsu Academy, we promote a culture of positivity, empowerment and eagerness to problem solve when faced with a challenge; as opposed to negativity or having a victim mindset. We operate by our values as expressed in the meaning of the 6 blades of the Ribeiro logo: Family, Respect, Loyalty, Discipline/ Dedication, Attitude and Honor.

We have developed a culture in which students of all walks of life and abilities can come to learn and practice the art and lifestyle of BJJ; where teammates encourage each other and work hard towards both individual goals as well as the mission of the team.

At RJJ Yorktown, we believe that every need can be properly served with proper communication from the start. At our academy, we build relationships with our students and families at the very beginning of our enrollment process so that we know why our students are looking to be part of our programs, academy and team.If we know our students “why”, then we can give the “how”. And when our students and families feel that they can talk with us about any issue give productive feedback, then we can expediently solve it together, improve and grow!
